SOFTBALL RECAP
Foyil High School Softball Season
18 wins and 18 losses was our record for the season. We started out rough but came back strong and ready to fight! Before each game, Coach Webb made sure we were locked in and focused, because if we weren’t we would lose. Also before each game, we stretched and threw, to get loosened up. We also do I&O (infield and outfield) before the game. Sometimes before the game when he can tell we were not focused, he would send us to a room to think about the game and what to do during it.
While we were at Districts it was double elimination. The first game was a breeze, but if we went into a game thinking we were going to get a win with no effort, we would lose. The first game we had amazing defense and offense all around. The second game was a little bit harder because we came in with a win and were thinking we would crush them with ease. We lost focus and were slowly giving up, but the seniors, team, and coach didn’t deserve us just giving up without a fight. We started to come back with a better mind set and stronger bats. The team wanted to win and locked it in. You could tell by the third game that the other team, Cave Springs, was tired, but when you’re a Foyil Lady Panther you don’t give up! 10-0 was the ending score for the last game. For the whole day we came out with 3 wins and didn’t lose a game. Foyil Lady Panthers Softball was headed to Regional's! It was also a double elimination.
We went to Regional's, sadly the season is now over but we played our hearts out and didn’t give up. Our first game was against Pioneer -Pleasant Vale. Then we won our 2nd game against Barnsdall 7-4, we had lost to them three years in a row in districts. Saturday was our last game, we played Pioneer again and lost 7-14 the score may look bad but we played our hearts out till the end.
