Foyil Elementary Update

March 30, 2020

Dear Parent/Guardian,

I want to share some updates with each of you as we continue navigating through unchartered territory. First off, I miss seeing your kids smiling faces and I promise every teacher is struggling not having their “school kids” with them on a daily basis. I have found over the past two weeks that what we have going at Foyil Elementary is something special. The staff has been working tirelessly on how to best serve your students and I believe we will come out of this stronger than we entered.

Teachers will begin calling families this week to find out the best way to help your child continue the educational process. Each teacher is making a packet for students that will ensure that they can continue to practice skills that are vital to learning. These packets will be available for pick-up on Monday, April 6th from 10:00 – 1:00 and Tuesday, April 7th from 10:00 – 1:00. PreK, KG, and 1st grade packets will be handed out a t eh east end of the lower elementary where drop off and pick-up normally take place. 2nd – 6th grade packets will be handed out in the circle drive in front of the office. Nobody will be allowed out of their cars and allowed to go in buildings; packets will be brought to your cars. These packets are going to remain and home and not returned to school.

Teachers will also be discussing with families if they have internet capability at home. Many teachers have been planning to have meeting that students will be able to interact with the teacher. Teachers may be asking form email addresses that will be used as part of their virtual learning. I know there will be students that do not have that capability and I understand that. Teachers will make phone calls to families to check student progress throughout this process.

Thank you for your continued cooperation and support of Foyil Elementary.

Sincerely,

Brad Jordan Elementary Principal
