COVID-19 Update
To: Parents and/or guardians of Foyil Public Schools
We are seeing an increase in the symptoms of COVID-19 (i.e. fever, headaches, shortness of breath, loss of taste/smell etc.) and we have been in contact with the Rogers County Health Department monitoring the situation. We have been notified of one staff member and 5 students that have tested positive as of this writing. Through contact tracing all affected individuals have been contacted by the school regarding the necessary quarantines. We currently have over 50 students and two staff members in quarantine. At this time, we feel it is in the best interest of our students, families, and staff to implement distance learning for all grades effective October 8, 2020. This will allow us to do deep cleaning on our facilities and it will allow separation of individuals through the fall break period. We will announce when in person learning can be resumed.
The offices will be open for telephone calls between 7:45 and 3:30 to address any questions and concerns. Teachers will be available to help students during this time through e-mail.
